Description

Oral history interview with Illinois State Normal University alumnus David Hanbury, Class of 1973. The interview was conducted on October 29, 1983, by Mary Graves, member of the Student Alumni Council.

Hanbury recounts a stand-off between students and National Guard troops that occurred on ISU’s campus in 1970 as a response to the Kent State shooting. He also goes into detail about the prevalence of marijuana on campus and the Rites of Spring, a popular and raucous summer concert series held on the Quad during the 70s.
