Abstract
Synthesis and mechanistic studies of the breakdown of aromatic substituted N-(α-alkoxybenzyl)amide compounds as a function of pH will be performed to gain an understanding of the unique reactivity of the biologically important O-alkyl carbinolamide functionality.
