Abstract
This project examined the reactions women have to discovering the infidelity of their partners. Themes were generated from the reactions of women posted on self-help forums. From these themes, a questionnaire was developed and administered, along with already-existing measures of trauma, to women who have recently discovered the infidelity of their partners. It was found that scores on the newly-developed measure strongly correlated with scores on an already-established measure of trauma. Additionally, two subscales of the newly created measure were found to be strong predictors of scores on the trauma measure. Limitations of the current study and directions for future research were also discussed.
