Description
The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) defines career readiness as the attainment and demonstration of eight requisite competencies that broadly prepare college graduates for a successful transition into the workplace. According to a recent NACE study, employers and students rated the career management competency with the lowest proficiency rating, with only 17.3% of employers and 44.6% of students believing proficiency was achieved. Career management is defined as the ability of employees to identify one’s skills, strengths, knowledge, and experience for the purposes of professional growth and alignment to career goals. This session will provide a framework for career management that will breakdown the elements and stages of career exploration. The session will conclude with an alumni panel to highlight stories of how involvement led individuals to discover interests, industries, and success!
