Abstract
Provides an overview of a source evaluation lesson plan that utilizes video/multimedia of commercials, public service announcements, and ad campaigns. The lesson promotes media literacy by focusing on media and social influences of this media, how values and points of view are included or excluded, and in what ways language, audio, and visuals influence beliefs and behaviors. The overview includes the following sections: Circumstances of the Instruction; Objectives of the Instruction; Components of the Instruction (Preparation, Presentation, Evaluation); Supplementary Material (Activity worksheet); and Recommended Resources.
