Abstract

The present study examined associations among loneliness, psychological distress, age, and gender in youth. Results indicated older youth demonstrated difficulty coping with feelings of loneliness and experienced more symptoms of distress. Gender did not moderate the effects of well-being. The present research highlights avenues to increase perceptions of belongness.
